Will be involved in all aspects of teaching in this classroom. Includes lesson planning, grading, classroom management, counseling, instruction, supervision and extracurricular activities.
Must be fluent in English and have a minimum of 2 years of college experience.
Men teach in long pants (no jeans) but may wear shorts off campus or after school. Men must wear collared shirts to church meetings. Women must always wear loose fitting skirts and dresses past the knee when going off campus or "in public" on campus. Women may wear modest shorts, slacks or pants only on campus in the evening or when exercising. Tight and/or short shorts, low cleavages or sleeveless/sheer blouses or dresses are never acceptable. No dreadlocks for men or women. Hair should not be below the ears for men. Please refrain from bringing jewelry.
Housing provided. Basic housekeeping supplies provided. Single-bed sheets, towels and personal items not provided.

Volunteer will pay for their own travel to and from location, and excess baggage, Food/Meals, Visa.

- Non-USA citizens need to send entry permit application (supplied by school), original police and child protection clearance documents.
- All volunteers need to send copies of diploma, passport, transcript and itinerary.
- After you have been voted into this position by the General Conference, your volunteer status will be changed to "Assignment Voted." You must then provide your travel itinerary to: 1) your place of service, 2) your Home/Sending Division so they can request insurance for you, and 3) your sending organization (if you have one). To do this, please log on to your AVS website account where you can email it automatically to the organizations previously mentioned.
- All non-USA citizens MUST be responsible for any Transit Visa (US/Guam, Philippines or any other country) for their airline ticket stops or layovers en route to their final destination. Direct any questions to the principal regarding Entry Permit requirements. If needed, GMM can furnish a letter to take to your embassy.
Plan to arrive at Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii, on Friday, August 2, 2019, for Orientation meetings which begin at 6:15 p.m. that evening. Departure to your island school begins on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, on flight UA154 to Pohnpei, arriving on Thursday, August 8, and then continuing on to Kosrae the next day on flight UA155, Friday, August 9, 2019
