Work under the direction of an ADRA-Mauritania staff member in implementing projects and programs of ADRA-Mauritania
This may include, but is not limited to, assisting in health events, surveys, distribution events or in the day to day work of ADRA-Mauritania,
Further details of assignment will be given at the time of service.
Work will be varied, included health fair/health promotion events, assisted with medical and dental care as well as setting up and cleaning up, assisting with the accounting or writing proposals. Volunteers will be asked to attend and assist with the local SDA prayer group (not obligatory). Volunteer must be willing to be flexible.
Men: may wear usual western dress, or national dress, sandals
Women: Ankle length skirts, long sleeves, head scarves for the street. Tunic style shirts with loose pants. May choose national dress. Sandals.
Sleeping room may be shared with someone of the same gender or spouse, mosquito net and mattress supplied. 220 volt electrical current. Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Other Medical Recommendations- Consider malaria prophylaxis, Hepatitis B vaccine, Oral typhoid vaccine.
After you have been voted into this position by the General Conference, your volunteer status will be changed to "Assignment Voted." You must then provide your travel itinerary to: 1) your place of service, 2) your Home/Sending Division so they can request insurance for you, and 3) your sending organization (if you have one).
