Break Bread, not Boards

There was a time when Anton was fascinated by the martial arts. He was so skilled that he was selected to study at the Bulgarian National Sports Academy where he later began a sports club and competed in tournaments.

Anton was pleased with his hard-won success, but he felt that something important was missing in his life.

He found Jesus, but Anton still felt that something was missing in his life. He and his wife, Gabriela, wanted to find a way to share the new joy in their lives with others in the city of Ruse. They met others at church who felt a similar calling. One day, he discovered what that something was when he learned about Christ. He fell in love with Jesus and became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church family.

Anton and his wife, Gabriela, wanted to share the new joy in their lives with others who lived in their home city of Ruse. Working with other church members with the same passion, they opened the Banquet Table—an Urban Center of Influence that includes a bakery, cafe, free classes, counseling services, a library, and even a playroom for kids. And Anton, once a martial artist, has discovered he has a new talent. He is now an artisan baker whose breads have earned the high praises of customers at the Banquet Table. (As told by Brad Thorp)
